Bloom just celebrated their 7th anniversary in March.
Norah Pare, the manager, has worked at Bloom for over five years, the last two as chef and kitchen manager.
The cafe was opened by Jess Begault and her cousin, both originally from Belgium, who saw the need for a neighbourhood spot in PSC, at that time a bit of a food desert.
Emphasis is laid on the third wave coffee, and delicious food.
“During this strange period, we have re-opened as an épicerie and prêt-à-manger pick-up spot. We are offering some of our dishes, pastry and of course coffee beans! Also carrying the basics: eggs, milk, cheese, bread, yogurt, soup and of course JAM!
Most of our clientele, especially now, are our neighbours from the Pointe and surrounding communities.
Honestly, being back in the café has kept me sane. Doing what I love, and hanging out with my parents’ dog, Marley.
If people can afford to, please support smaller businesses in this moment of uncertainty. We want to be here with you when all this is over :)”
Suppliers include Montreal coffee roaster Kittel, and artisanal boulangerie Bête à Pain.
You can call in for food and coffee, from the QUARANTINE MENU: TUESDAY-SATURDAY 11AM-4PM
