Our mothers keep us standing upright, with strength and beauty. In honour of what they’ve given to each of us, we have arranged to contribute to a lasting gift to our mothers, and our children’s mothers, created in our communities to celebrate our families. We have arranged for, and supplemented portraiture from gifted artists, through two Montréal galleries, by commission. A range of approachable rates, styles, and mediums have been established, and you can reach out to the gallerists from BBAM!, and SATUR DAY SWIM°, to make the matriarch of your home immortal.

Ian Shatilla
Montreal portrait painter Ian Shatilla has Masters In Fine Arts from Concordia with a reputation as one of this country’s best realist painters. He has exhibited internationally (most recently in New York) and is a respected fine arts instructor.

Lacey Jane
‍Lacey Jane is a contemporary female artist most notable for her work as a muralist and oil painter; specializing in narrative portraiture.
Her work has been exhibited and collected internationally.
She currently works and resides in Montreal, Quebec, where her practice is dedicated to both her studio works and her career in public art.

Layla Folkmann
Contemporary muralist and portrait painter Layla Folkmann started her fine art education at Grant MacEwan University in her hometown of Edmonton, Alberta.
In 2015, she relocated to Montreal and completed her BFA at Concordia University, where she graduated with Distinction.
Her mural work is currently on display internationally, including a recent commission in Iceland.

MULUMBA Tshikuka
Congolese-born, Montréal-trained, London-based painter, and portrait artist.  Born in the Democratic Replublic of Congo, Mulumba is a writer, painter, and avid people-watcher. Mulumba has gleaned experience and techniques living in Kenya, Botswana, Zimbabwe, United States, Canada, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. All these places have informed his eye and worldview. He presently resides in the UK.
He has worked for Cirque du Soleil, and with several big-name brands in the toy and film industries, including Disney.
For several years Mulumba published the art quarterly LIFT.
Frequently featuring birds, flowers, and iconic faces, his thought-provoking and dreamlike work examines the beauty in human contradictions.
Mulumba has exhibited around the world. Recently in Tokyo. Upcoming exhibitions in London, and in Montréal.

INSTANT BONSAº|º.
Texas-born, Okinawa-trained, Los Angeles-based sculptor, and painter. His reputation has been built as a muralist, and sculptor in the Los Angeles scene. He has focused on interventions in abandoned spaces, and commercial spaces, as well as collaborations with other artists, in multiple disciplines, exploring gender roles and societal structures in historical and political context.
